Overview


We are looking for a versatile Creative Editor who has experience across a range of media including digital and social advertising, live action and motion graphics.

You’ll need to be a confident communicator and be able to work independently as you’ll be asked to see projects through from pitch to delivery, being involved at every stage along the process. You’ll have an impeccable eye for detail and the ability to interpret clients and creative needs instinctively.

This is a friendly and tight-knit team, so as well as being a good editor you will need to be sociable, able to work in a team and confident throwing ideas into the mix.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting into the Creative Directors and working alongside other editors/motion designers, Art Directors and Copywriters, to deliver strong conceptual and creative solutions that adhere to client brand guidelines, but at the same time stand out and engage the target audience
  • Editing a wide range of videos and formats, both unscripted and scripted,from initiation to completion
  • Contribute to the ideation process by proposing creative solutions and ‘owning’ them throughout the project lifecycle
  • Storyboard complex ideas to a high standard
  • Proactively experiment with different versions of an edit, exploring multiple directions, whilst following best procedure and workflow
  • Able to quickly assemble high quality edits and implement feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Applying a solid understanding of the production process for digital video creation across both live action and animation projects
  • Organising and archiving video assets ensuring that naming and archiving conventions are adhered to
  • Responding to urgent requests for amends, encodes and delivery
  • Ability to mentor and coach a junior member of the editing team

Skills & Requirements

  • Solid industry experience as a Video Editor/Motion Graphics Designer
  • In-depth knowledge of After Effects/Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut. DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus
  • Appreciation of film and filming process as well as the ability to use our inhouse DSLR cameras (desirable)
  • Excellent video editing, 2D motion graphics and compositing skills
  • Compelling and extensive portfolio that demonstrates high quality live action and motion work within a variety of campaigns and projects
  • Strong understanding of video work flow, file types and codecs for a wide variety of platforms
  • A good knowledge and understanding of the creative development and production process
  • Good understanding of audio in video (including recording), voiceovers, music and sound effects
  • Good know-how of lighting techniques
  • Sound understanding of how people consume, share, and engage with digital and social video, as well as a good grasp of storytelling
  • Exceptional design and presentation skills, along with the ability to work across all media
  • An excellent communicator with a proven ability to inspire trust and confidence, and influence up to a senior level
  • Detail orientated, deadline-aware, organised and able to successfully juggle multiple projects
  • A team player and collaborator who is good at accepting critique and implementing feedback
  • Able to coach and mentor junior members of the creative team
  • Solid understanding of the strengths and limitations of various digital channels
  • Understanding usage and clearance requirements for music, images and footage
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, and a desire to excel creatively
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • High level of written and verbal English
